Frequently Asked Questions
Bfs Air Bubble Jets
Why should I change to using the BfS Air Bubble Jet? To achieve greater safety with your spraying operations, not only to yourself the operator, but for all those around you including the driver of the airseeder in the same paddock whose tractor probably does not have a chemical filter fitted and also to the environment.
Will I sacrifice weed control, especially rye grass, if I use BfS Air Bubble Jets?. If you are using the correct water rate, chemical rate and nozzle size and pressure range at the right growth stage, weed control will not be compromised, in fact in some instances it will be enhanced. Trials conducted in Meckering, West Aust in 2008, showed the Air Bubble Jet performed equal to a standard flat fan nozzle on ryegrass.
Do I need high pressure to run the BfS Air Bubble Jet?. No, recommended operating pressure is 3 bar and they operate perfectly from 2 to 5 bar. However many clients are having excellent results operating above 5 Bar.
Will the BfS Air Bubble Jet work just as well with all chemicals, fungicides and additives?. Yes because of the unique design of the nozzle, a very even sized droplet is produced that will carry more chemical to cover the target.
Do I need to make changes to my boomspray to accommodate the BfS Air Bubble Jet?. No, they fit in the standard tee jet cap, which is used on nearly all boomsprays.
Do the air holes block with dust and what happens if they do?. It is a very rare occurrence that one should block, with minimal deteriotion in spray pattern that can be seen when flushing your boom line out.
How long do they last?. A very high quality plastic, acetyl copolymer is used with very tough wear characteristics. To play it safe I would recommend doing a flow test at the end of each season. Of course while spraying if any deteriotion in spray pattern is observed that particular nozzle should be changed.
Are the nozzles colour coded? Yes, there is an international colour coding for all nozzles that BfS employs
